In recent times there has been an explosion in the sphere of reality programs on TV. From singing talent search to bizarre food shows – almost everything is forming a topic for these reality series. These shows are earning huge ratings and TRP for the respective channels.
ABC on DISH Network brings a unique show called The Bachelor. It is a reality TV dating game show introduced in 2002. The show is anchored by news host Chris Harrison.
The show presents an eligible bachelor who dates around 25 women. The women can become his future wife too. The show features elimination rounds and this brings in a lot of drama and emotions.
The eligible bachelor goes for group dates with the women. But most of them get rejected in the elimination during the rose ceremonies. The elimination continues till the count reaches down to 4 women.
The families of the final four women get a visit from the bachelor. The last 3 women get to spend overnight dates in exotic locations. After further elimination the last 2 women get to meet the bachelor’s family.
The new season begins in January 2012. It picks up from last summer when the Californian winemaker Ben Flajnik was rejected by Ashley Hebert. He will now date 25 women from America to find his love interest.
Each week Ben will go on dates with these women. He will keep eliminating them on basis of dates, events and other meetings. He expects to be left with his true love at the end of the series.
